This species lives inside the arms of crinoids (feather stars) for protection. It adopts the colour pattern of its host by repositioning chromatophores (pigment cells) in its carapace. It feeds on plankton collected from the arms of its host.

1- 12 m depth, size up to 2 cm. Females are larger than males.
