Lauren Siba & Sascha Janson
Lauren, from Canada, has dived all over the world in environments ranging from the cold waters of Canada to a volcanic lake in Guatemala.
Lauren finds underwater critter behavior fascinating and loves sharing this with others. Her favourite critter is the octopus for its intelligence and curiosity. She believes there is no such thing as a boring dive – even something you have seen many times before can be observed for new and interesting behavior. She loves diving slowly, stopping and trying to figure out what creatures are doing, whether it’s hunting for food or showing off for a mate. She is thrilled to be part of the team at critters@lembeh where so many people combine their talents and passion for the underwater world.
Lauren’s other interests include dark chocolate, scrabble, and watching films.
Sascha was working as an electrician and mechanic in his native country Germany before he went to Thailand, fell in love with diving and radically changed his life when he decided to become a dive instructor and guide. He has never looked back since. He has dived extensively in some of the best dive areas of Indonesia, including Raja Ampat, Ambon, Banda, Komodo, Flores, Lembeh, Bunaken and Bali as well as diving in Thailand and India.
Sascha is passionate about underwater photography and combines this with his talent for teaching and technical background to assist others in taking great photos.
He loves critters and muck diving and is very excited to be at critters@lembeh, the epicenter for this special and very rewarding dive environment.
His favourite critter is the pygmy seahorse because of its tiny size and ability to camouflage itself.
In addition to diving Sascha enjoys spicy food and using computers and other electronic gadgets.
