| In rocky reef and rubble areas where they hide in elaborate burrows. There are many different species of smashing and spearing mantis in the Lembeh strait. Smashing mantises (including the peacock mantis) have small round shaped eyes and feed on hard shelled animals. Spearing mantises (including the giant mantis) have large peanut shaped eyes and feed on soft bodied animals such as fish. These species can be easily distinguished by it’s color patterns especially.At there tail that is colorful.
