This striking nudibranch is found on coral and rocky reefs or sandy substrate, most of the time close to it’s only known food source to date, Sacrophyton soft coral. It has many flattened ceratas growing from the top of its mantle. The large surface areas of ceratas act as solar panels and allow extensive photosynthesis through the algal patches (symbiotic zooxanthellae ) obtained from its soft coral food source . It’s famous for it’s ability to obtain nutrients through photosynthesis. Probably toxic. Body size is about 14 cm.
