Found on sand, rubble and in mud. This species can be distinguished from other very similar looking species of genus Ceratosoma by the purple line rimming its mantle edge and purple spots dotting the bottom of its foot. As in all Ceratosoma species, gills are protected by a toxic skin flap, which give these nudibranches the typical ‘T’ shape. Emperor shrimps often hitch a ride on their broad mantle.
