Combination color of yellow for the base and red and white banded. Start from center to the head had fully violet color. Usually found in pairs, and this species is very shy mostly found under a covered area or cracks. During the spawning season the eggs stalks that attach the blue eggs to the female are visible through the dorsal carapace.
