Philip Seys grew up in a small city called Harelbeke in the Flanders region of Belgium. He got his first taste of scuba on a training dive as a rescue diver with the volunteer Fire Brigade. He hadn’t wanted to go, but loved it from the first moment in the water and has been hooked on diving ever since.
He joined the local Actina dive club and later, after moving to Gent, joined the De Manta dive club. By 1990 he became an instructor (certified in both CMAS and PADI). Since then he has logged over 2000 dives in some of the most beautiful places on earth.
In the early 90′s Philip became interested in underwater photography because he wanted to capture some of the beautiful things he was seeing in order to share them with others. He started out using a Nikonos V and has since graduated to digital equipment.
Currently a Radiologic Technologist, Philip lives in California with his wife and son.
