Critters of the Lembeh Strait | The Bryozoan Goby

- Dive Center
There’s always something new to see in the Lembeh Strait. This time our dive center manager Lauren Siba was looking for the recently discovered and still undescribed bryozoan goby. They had only been seen in Ambon and Alor and as far as we know, nobody had spotted them in Lembeh until now. With a lot of patience, she finally found a few specimens as they are tiny, well-camouflaged and are very skittish. Having located them, she then took along our Photo Pro Sascha Janson to get proof and here is the resulting video – we have them in Lembeh as well! Fish Scientist Gerry Allen is currently in the process of scientifically describing this fish and will be here next week for our Fish Geek Week so this discovery was well-timed.
