Gaby Carias Certified PADI Diving Instructor since 1995 began taking underwater photographs as a means of recreation for her diving classes, and discovered that with them she awakened curiosity, emotions, and an increase in knowledge; excellent tools to promote world conservation, something that is her love and passion.
Since then, she has been taking photographs for teaching, scientific, conservationist, and artistic purposes. Currently works as Photographic Coordinator in the prestigious Venezuelan magazine RIO VERDE. She is the Underwater Representative in the unique Festival de Aventura in Venezuela, ASCENSO, and continues teaching diving courses.
Has won Awards in Festivals like ASCENSO, Museo Marino de Margarita, and her photographs have received First Place in competitions in Spain and Portugal. Actively participates with Universities (Universidad Maritima del Caribe, Universidad Simon Bolivar, Universidad Central de Venezuela), Museums, and national and international Conservation Institutions (Mar Viva, Audubon Venezuela, Fundacion Tierra Viva, Fudena El Arca Criolla, CICTMAR, Planeta Vital, Fundacion Costa de Venezuela ), Conbive y Provita-Ong, in Articles and Publications, Written Press (newspapers, magazines, books), and in web portals.
