Found on coral reefs where they hide in the crevices and among branching corals or among coral rubble of sheltered reefs. Juveniles have a specific undulating swimming style, similar to the one of the harlequin sweet lip juvenile. The colour is snow white with black dots. Adults are an important food fish.
