Capturing Critters in Lembeh Underwater Photography Workshop 2027

In January 2027 we celebrate another edition of Capturing Critters in Lembeh (CCiL) — the longest-running underwater photography workshop in Indonesia. What started as a small gathering of three photo pros has now grown into one of the world’s most anticipated annual events for underwater shooters.
For 2027, we are thrilled to welcome two internationally acclaimed Photo Pros — Marty Snyderman and James Emery — who will be joining our in-house Photo Pro and Lembeh Resort’s dedicated Marine Biologist. Together with our expert Dive Guides and the Lembeh Resort Photo Center team, they’ll provide you with unparalleled knowledge, personalized coaching, and all the tools you need to take your underwater photography or videography to the next level.

Meet Our Photo Pros
With decades of combined experience, countless awards, and a shared passion for teaching, both Marty and James are not only celebrated image-makers but also exceptional mentors.
Whether you’re new to underwater photography or an experienced shooter, their guidance and creativity will help elevate your skills and inspire your work.
Meet Our Photo Center Team

In addition to two experienced photo pros, participants at CCiL 2027 will also receive expert support from Lembeh Resort’s own team of experienced underwater photographers: Lawrence, Fandy, and Janri.
Together with our Photo Center team, marine biologist, and photography-trained dive guides, this group will add a wealth of local knowledge to the workshop; introducing participants to Lembeh's many rare and wonderful critters, explaining their fascinating behaviors, revealing where to find them, and advising how best to photograph them.
Together with James and Marty, this cohort of creatives brings more expert support to CCiL than ever before!
