Tozeuma armatum
Banded Tozeuma shrimp
A shrimp species associated with black corals and sea whips. It has an extremely elongated, transparent body with irregular transverse camouflaging bands, allowing it to blend in perfectly with its coral host—not only in shape but also by mimicking the host’s color pattern. Individuals can appear white, yellow, orange, red, or a combination of these; the rarest color combination is yellow and blue. Though difficult to spot, they may remain on the same coral colony for several months. Found at depths of up to 20 meters.
